All our gates are produced in the UK. With the exception of gates produced in our workshop they are supplied by a family run Somerset business which has been established since 1903 and holds a Royal Warrant for supplying timber products to various Royal households including Buckingham Palace. All timber used in the production of these gates is purchased on a sustainable basis and is certified on both the FSC and PEFC. Although all of our gates are pressure treated it is recommended that an application of a clear treatment is used. If you require a painted finish we recommend a microporous treatment such as Sikkens. As with all timber seasonal changes can occur, we recommend that gates be hung with adjustable hinges where necessary and be maintained annually.

Our most popular gate, the Sussex is a framed, ledged and multi braced stop mortised Close board gate. Supplied in a sawn finish pressure treated softwood. At a height of 1.76m is is available in widths of 0.9m and 1.2m.

A popular framed, ledged and multi braced mortised close board gate in pressure treated softwood . The Sompting has a heavy duty frame (95mm on the diagonal and 145mm on the horizontal) With additional capping on top to give a professional finish and some weather protection. Available in a standard height of 1.778m and widths of 0.9m and 1.2m in stock. Also available to order in widths of 1.5m and 1.8m.

A quality framed, ledged and multi braced morticed pressure treated tongue and groove clad side gate, available in 1.778m h x 0.9m w. As with all prepared timber we recommend that the timber is treated with a good quality preservative, see our gate information.

Along with close board we can also offer a side gate in prepared tongue and groove timber. Our most popular gate of this style is framed ledged and multi braced, clad with pressure treated tongue and groove slats. Available to take away in 1.88m high x 0.9m wide. We always recommend that prepared timber is treated with a good quality UV resistant treatment. Other styles are available to order.

A new gate to our range, the Brighton is a quality framed, ledged and multi braced morticed side gate, using pressure treated tongue and groove matched boarding with an arched top and rounded stiles. Available in in a height of 1.8m and width of 0.9m only, we recommend using a good quality wood treatment, see our gate information. This gate is not available in bespoke sizes, we can offer alternatives.

The Lancing gate is a ledged and multi braced slatted gate also known as palisade. Available in a flat or curved top in pressure treated softwood, both at 0.915m wide, the flat top version is 1.75m high and curved top is 1.83m to the top of the curve.

This is our bestselling entrance gate, constructed from pressure treated tongue and groove softwood it also features champhering along both the top and mid rails allowing the rain to run off. Available in a standard height of 3' 6" and widths from 3' to 6'. You could have this as a single entrance gate, pair or may be an offset pair with a larger gate and pedestrian gate, perfect for a driveway.

The Brighton entrance gate is new to our range, a quality framed, ledged and multi braced morticed entrance gate. Clad with pressure treated tongue and groove match boarding with an arched top and rounded stiles., 0.9m h x 0.9m w. This entrance gate is perfect for painting and will create a great first impression. Please see our gate information. This gate is not available in bespoke sizes, we can offer alternatives.

Ideal as a garden gate to maybe provide a separate pet area or help screen a pond also a perfect light weight entrance gate. Our palisade gate is planed pressure treated timber. Available in widths of 0.9m and heights of 0.9m and 1.2m as standard. We can also offer a similar gate in bespoke sizes from our workshop, POA.

The Rustinton is a heavier duty gate of mortice and tenon construction. With 4” x 2” stiles strengthened by 4” rails and bracing. In kiln dried pressure treated and planed softwood the Rustinton is available at a height of 3.6m x 3’ wide. See our gate information for care advice.

the Arundel gate is available in a flat top or curved top, a lightweight wicket gate in kiln dried pressure treated softwood. The flat top version is approx 1.016m high with the curved top at 0.9m high both are 0.915m wide.

Our close board gates are constructed from 4" featheredge pales and match our close board panels. We also offer waney edge gates and straight edge gates to match the same style fence panels. These are excellent value for money and offer a consistent look throughout.

Most styles of gates can be used as pairs. If you have a standard opening or are maybe creating the entrance then a standard pair is ideal. Our most popular standard pair of gates are available in heights up to 8' and each leaf is available in widths of up to 9'. You could choose an equal pair or offset pair with a pedestrian gate fro daily use.Available in softwood or hardwood, untreated ready for for a microporous pigmented treatment of your choice to be applied prior and after instillation.

Our traditional 5- bar field gate is a design classic. Featuring a tapered top bar with a superior hanging stile. The robust framing is joined using mortice and tenon joints combined with traditional diamond bracing. The slow grown, kiln dried and pressure treated timber is planed with a chamfered top bar and stainless steel nuts and bolts. Suitable for all types of entrances including residential, equestrian and country settings. When hanging as a pair a Drop bolt / socket set must be fitted to each gate and a loop over latch in the centre. We have a large range of hinge options and Field gate fitting sets available depending on where the gate or gates are being hung. We do not offer bespoke sizing in this style. We have a small range of black metal gates to take away. Available in a black plastic finish on mild steel. We have an entrance or pedestrian gate to suit openings of 820mm - 1000mm, supplied with an adjustable gate fixing kit. The image is a bespoke gate and railings supplied and fitted by us, we regret this service is not currently available.

Our workshop can make gates to order. We require the exact measurements for the gate and the style you require. It is preferable that you visit the store to discuss your requirements. Payment is taken at the time of the order, during busy times orders can take up to 6 weeks, this is unusual but please allow for this. We don’t offer refunds on made to measure items.

We have a large variety of gate fittings in store including our pre packed range which comes complete with screws etc. We offer a gate fixing pack which comes with your choice of suffolk latch or ring latch, 1- pair of 18’ tee hinges and a pad bolt, ideal for most pedestrian and entrance gates. We also have heavier duty adjustable hinges, field gate packs, drop bolts, auto latches, pad bolts and key operated locks, all our fittings are galvanised. We also have a premium range available in Black.
